Cognitive Functional Capacity

Comprehensive Cognitive Functional Capacity Evaluation Services

A Cognitive Functional Capacity Evaluation (Cog-FCE) is an evidence-based assessment that examines an individual’s cognitive abilities as they relate to safe and effective performance in work and daily activities. Using the Matheson approach to cognitive and behavioral evaluation, I assess domains such as attention, memory, processing speed, executive functioning, problem-solving, task persistence, and functional decision-making. As a Certified Work Capacity Evaluator (CWCE), I integrate standardized testing with functional, task-based observations to determine how cognitive strengths and limitations translate into real-world performance demands. This process provides objective, defensible information to support return-to-work planning, vocational rehabilitation, and the evaluation of functional effects of trauma or injury.
